    My Saturn is haunted!

This is a very odd problem... I have both my Saturn and Dreamcast connected to a scart box which handles up to 5 scart cables. When I turn on my Dreamcast, the power light of the Saturn ??? turns on! But only slightly, as if it only ran at half its power.

And when I turn on my Saturn (with the Dreamcast turned off), the VMU starts beeping constantly! So I am forced to remove the joypad.

    Am I going crazy?

No - SCART lead voltage can be up to 6 volts (on auto switching modes), it's probably finding it's way back up the leads to your other consoles, meaning it's not very well isolated (in the switcher).

    Regards
    Marty

Well from now on I'll make sure only one scart is plugged in at once, this doesn't sound too healthy. Thanks for the info!

Doesnt that take away the need for a scart switcher as it is?

You could get a scart block which isnt auto switching, that should fix your problem.

I'm guessing you're using a scart splitter rather than a proper switch. I've had this same thing happen to me with my DC/GC when using a splitter. I bet you get degraded picture quality too.

          Solution: use a switch!
