ati radeon 9200 graphics card 128mb

hi just wondering does this card have a s-video out for displaying on my TV.? also if anyone owns this card how do they rate it

It depends what make + model it is !

The card can come with or without tv out.

From a games point of view they are are old these days and slow (around a Geforce 3, and below a Geforce 4)

However as with all ATI, image quality and TV out is far better than a similar specc'd Nvidia card.

I bought a second-hand 9000 Pro a few months ago and if it's of interest, I can say that the s-video out is quite . On my telly, anyway!

My brother has a comparatively PC that includes a 9500 Pro and rather lacklustre output. His appraisal is that the picture is worse than the composite-out on my telly and reckons that it's his TV. On balance, my old, once expensive Toshiba set appears to be relatively disappointing with RGB; but that Radeon output can't be faulted - via s-video, it's still readable at 1024x768!

        In closing, yes.

        Oh.

        It's great!

          That's ATI fanboy BS.

Image quality is absolutely fantastic with both manufacturers cards. I've just gone from a ATI 9600Pro to a GeForce FX5900, and other than much higher FPS, there is no difference in IQ.

Coincidentally, IMO the Nvidia drivers are much more stable.

No its not its pure fact.

However buy a cheap raddy with cheap parts and get nvidia style washed out display.

I would go into why ATI output is better but you wouldnt understand.

Right....erm okay - why wouldn't I understand, you obviously know very little about this so I imagine I know a little more than you.

ATI's image quality may be marginally better (but not to the naked eye) when AA and AF are used, but tbh a 9200 radeon isn't fast enough to use either of these features, add this to the driver issues and it's not necessarily the best choice.

              washed out display
Yeah right, I could put two displays side by side and you couldn't tell which is which.

I'm not trying to start a flame, but you sound like a Radeon owner trying to justify his purchase, they are both great manufacturers - I grew up and stopped arguing about stuff like this when the Spectrum/C64 debate was around....

Ypu just pisses all over your own point m8.

If you cant tell side by side fine, u must have dodgy vision. Can u tell the difference between s-video and RGB - to me s-video is horribly washed out. Ask 99% of my m8's and they can not see the difference. Just because you can not see a difference soesnt mean its not there.

Ohhhh fyi i have a Nvidia card in my laptop, and yes its **** and washed out with piss poor colours. Like the xbox, perhaps the worst RGB in console history and guess who made the GFX chip :O

Nvidia cards are far more stable and compatiable and i whinged like a bitch about my 9700pro - infact it was probably the reason i gave up pc gaming.

However it totally pissed all over every Nvidia card i have ever owned form a TNT - a 5900u in terms of image quality.

Ohh and Matrox cards have even better image quality than ATI.

Ohh what a fanboy am i

Why? I said they are both great manufacturers.

Yes, every console I have is connected RGB - but I don't understand the connection between the two subjects?

Laptop TFT's are notoriously bad at displaying true colours and definition whatever the adapter.

Your right there, although for some reason, my new xbox seems to have much better RGB than my launch xbox? Very strange.

Apologies for calling you a fanboy, you're obviously not one. Maybe we'll just agree to disagree on this one.

I have an Ati Radeon 9200 128MB here and it has an S-Video output.

I don't recommend using this card for (new) games, better look for a Radeon 9600 or higher.

I didn't had good results when I tested this card with 3D Mark 2001, it was even worse with 3D Mark 2003.
