usb flash drive

Does anyone have any tips to recover data from these?
My wives has suddenly stopped working- on the computer it does not register it is plugged in. I have tried it on another machine at work with no luck so I guess its the usb drive itself.

I've tried the 'wiggle' trick on youtube!
Is it worth taking anywhere (to a specialist or something)
