Xbox pad for PC & Sony Repairs

    Peeps,

Does a wireless xbox controller work on PC at all? What do I need to get it to work? Wanting to play Skyrim on PC with a controller preferably wireless but will buy a wired one if it's easier.

Also thinking about getting my old phat ps3 fixed again, this time in and around London - any recommendations for reliable, trustworthy repairers?

    Thanks Chaps and chapesses

Yes you can use the wireless controller, you require the adaptor below

I got one of the xbox wireless adapters from china on Ebay - was cheap as chips and works like a charm.

You also need to download a MS driver for it but if you go to the relevant MS XB360 info pages all this sort of stuff is explained.

I've recently bought a XB360 for Windows wired controller, not used it yet but it was cheaper than the near enough identical wired XB360 controller. For use with my laptop (retro gaming only) I have a wired XB360 set up but most of the time I use a Sony PS Dualshock 1 with simple and cheap PS controller > USB adapter. Windows (XP) recognised it immediately and it didn't need any specific driver. If the game doesn't include controller support then a keyboard to joypad re-mapper like Joy2Key is all that is necessary to get it to work.

For things like the old Tomb Raider games and 2D/3D platformers it is perfect.
