First things first. If you insist on making an expansion pack for Microsoft that's not from the original developers, then at least make sure it works on XP and in DX 9.whatever. Thank god for dual booting systems.
Anyway, I'm amazed how badly the games has aged, and I'm not normally a graphics whore. Doesn't help it starts in the snow, and once the creepy atmosphere kicks in it goes swimmingly. Yes, it seems to be more of the same so far, and has the scandalous decision to force you to start as a new character. But I've killed mucho spiders thus far, which can only be a good thing.
Shame the voice acting has been done on the cheap. And the fact your party will yabber away as you click. And I haven't decided whether to be combat magic or a fighter yet. Still, half-giants = ace.
