it's an ok deal nothing special... if you look around theres plenty of better ones for that price.
also if you do get it find out what the graphics card is, i'm thinking it'll be a ati 9200 or GeForce 4 mx card which arn't the best.

    where is this from?

One of the last PC magazines that I bought (Computer Buyer, Issue 147, 'August' 2003 i.e. July!) had a ?699 +VAT systems review that had a much better collection than that - even then.

There's currently a similarly-priced Carrera system on the PC Pro website that has the following spec for ?699 +VAT (?821 inc.):

      Octan 2800SE
      Athlon XP 2800+
      512 MB PC3200 RAM
      80 GB hard drive
      Radeon All-in-Wonder 9800SE
      17" NEC TFT monitor (1280 x 1024 native resolution)
      CDRW drive
      DVD drive
      Creative NX webcam
MS sidewinder joystick and 11 game bundle
      Three-year on-site warranty

Those details are just from memory and I haven't seen any comparable systems, but it should give you some idea of what's available at the price. Hope it helps!

I sold my soul this summer and bought a Sony product, but i'm actually very pleased with it and it was pretty cheap.

Frankie, do not buy that pathetic deal. I noticed Time are doing some good deals, so look out for their adverts in the newspaper.

            Well that's good then.

It's not a good deal at all, your better off building your own and buying a brand new one off ebay.

Unfortunately, Time aren't known for having the best after-sales support

I've known of people driving to the company in a desperate attempt to get things sorted (their base is within an hour of where I live)!

I'd let it go, but the speaker thing made me laugh, dgnr7982. It's a good sales pitch, at least!

More constructively, how about a browse through a PC magazine, Frankie1982? You'll gain a good idea of what you can get for your money and probably spot a relatively good deal - particularly amongst the 'review systems'.

              Good luck, anyway
