    PC BSOD - ntoskrnl.exe+78a8a - Little help!

Every 1 in 5 times on shutdown (Windows 7 x64 Pro) I get a BSOD.

Using the program Blue Screen View I can see it's caused repeatedly by 'ntoskrnl.exe+78a8a'

Any ideas how I remedy this lords and ladies?

    Cheers

Have you tried to get more informations from Windows' dump files? They are normally in c:\windows\minidump, and might be more specific in getting the desired info. The Microsoft's KB is always the best place to look for BSOD solutions.

From a brief search it seems like an unverified driver might be the cause. Anything comes to mind?

I have, but am I missing something or can I only access them from something like BlueScreenViewer? I couldn't find much in the KB - do I just put the code in?

I've updated all drivers done a memtest and a load of others bits, verified all drivers etc. Still the same prob I assume it can't 'damage' anything as such?

To view the minidumps you need something like BlueScreenViewer, yes; that will tell you the BSOD exception which you can enter into the MicroSoft KB to search for possible solutions, or at least you will have a general (or specific) idea of what is causing the problem.

          Reseated everything?

Got any antivirus installed? Plenty of disk space? Recently installed software?

finally if you can upload the mini dump somewhere I could have a butchers.

Do you have any mobile phone usb connectors/chargers connected? Avast or Daemon tools installed?

Yup, Yup (C: drive is a 240gb SSD, 1TB E: drive, 500gb dedicated D/L drive and a 4TB storage Drive, none near their limit) Yup and no recently installed software - although...I did install Sony Vegas Pro 12, but that was a month or so ago, and this has only been happening the last 2 weeks or so. Annoyingly I used the newest CCleaner and that cleaned the minidumps away and they are not showing up on BSViewer anymore :/ Although I think I did screencap it just in case, so I probably have that.

That said, after I used CCleaner in Safemode, it has -so far - not Bluescreened. So fingers crossed!

And for the record no USB chargers etc connected. I took Daemontools off and other Virtual drive software in case that was the issue. It seemed to do it out of nowhere. I have made a restore point since it *seems* to be okay now, so hoping CCleaner in safemode did the trick!
