    Laptop purchase

    Hey guys im looking for a new laptop (pc)

    it needs to have a decent battery life, so a mobile processor is a must (no desktop components) a dvd combo drive, 512ddr ram and a decent graphics chipset.

    wi fi would also be a bonus

    and max 2.8kgs

        Those are two of the latops that ive been looking at, light and very nice and relitively cheap the sharp is ?1099 and the jvc is ?1299 anyone seen anything similar?

          Don't know anything about Sharp or JVCs sorry. I'd be tempted to go to PCworld though (if possible) and see how you get on with the keyboards. Although clearly it'll be a fair bit different from full sized, there are just some laptop ones I simply cannot get to grips with at all. It'll also let you judge the screen quality.

          For an actual review, I tend to use Computer Shopper for this sort of thing, because I'm an old fart. I'm sure there's reviews on the net tho somewhere, on one of the big PC sites.

            Are you after a small scal laptop ??? If so have you seen the Sony TR1MP - its smaller still than the Sharp and truly awesome !

            Or get a ibook like i did !

                I tend to find SONY models well over priced for the spec's but Toshiba models are spot on imo.
