Best video streaming tactics?

We have a TV in the bedroom and would like to stream stuff from maybe the console (ps3), mobile device or PC. As my wife has just under gone a c-section giving birth to our third child, she really needs to be able to pick and choose what to watch without much movement.

Any suggestions?

Have a look at Google Chromecast. That might do the job for you.

I saw that, but will it cast content sitting on a remote hard drive? Looks to do iPlayer, Netflix app type things and Chrome browser content. Good price. Anyone got one?

I have a Chromecast. If you have a Plex server you can cast any content from that.
Really impressed for the price.
