looking for a new monitor for my pc

so my monitor packed in was a prolite e2208hdd was a ok monitor 1080p and did the job (just felt the colours looked washed out ) so was looking for something decent and cheap (ideally a upgrade from the prolite ) 22" is fine dont need anything bigger

using a tv at the moment for the pc (which only has a max resolution of 1368 x 768 but still i the picture quality was far far worse always had that with pcs running on tv is it just because the tv is such a low spec ? )

oh when does the new display port standard arrive ? i wonder as screen tearing and micro stuttering really bug me and thats supposed to fix it

    cheers

    DisplayPort?

I've been using DisplayPort for 2 years. Shouldn't be any different to DVI or HDMI quality wise.

Do you have a budget in mind? The Dell U2312HM would be my choice really.

Find the monitor which is best for your home office. Ebuyer has a great selection of 24 and 25 inch monitors with great ergonomic features and finance options.

My mate has one of these monitors and the image is excellent. He's into photography and gaming and is very happy with it. Granted it isn't cheap but it is calibrated at the factory.

I guess your TV isn't calibrated? If you have access to a smartphone or tablet try the THX Tune Up app. It's not like full calibration but it's a good place to start.

I've got a Dell U2414H (24" IPS) that is all kinds of amaze - it has virtually zero signal processing lag according to tftcentral.

dell u2414h, dell u2414h review, u2414h, u2414h review, dell ultrasharp, u2414h vs p2414h, lcd, tft, monitor

I recently had to buy a new monitor fast and cheap. I decided to get a Benq, and have not been disappointed.

Have a look at some reviews for this one to see if it would suit you. Excellent price at ?130.

Some of these new monitors with almost no bezel are making my U2410 look ancient.

Shame, really like the design of this..

Lack of DP and not 16:10 pretty much kill a monitor for me.

Is there any advantage to display port vs hdmi/dvi assuming the monitor is only 1080p?

Over DVI, more displayed colours, doesn't use screws to attach the plug; over both, better in multi-monitor environments.

                          Carries audio too, like HDMI.

Ah right coolio. I quite like the physical design better than DVI too lol.

Very true. It's no more challenging than plugging in a USB cable.
