N64 using Gamecube RGB scart lead!

I was wondering if any of you guys could help me? I dug out my PAL N64 because I bought a copy of Paper Mario the other day and not having a RGB scart cable for it I bought a Gamecube RGB scart cable instead. When I turn the N64 on I'm getting sound but no picture at all. I thought I was being clever in using a GC scart instead of trying to hunt down a N64 scart. Is the RGB cable I bought knackered? Or just incompatible with the N64? My US cube with RGB scart from Saurian works fine so I know it's not the TV at fault. I've been relegated to playing PM with the cable that came with the N64. Any help welcome.

An N64 needs to be internally modded before it can output RGB, it doesnt do so as standard unfortunately.

Once it has been modded, then the GC cables work I believe which would explain how come it works on your US N64.

And PAL N64s can't be RGB modded at all, only NTSC ones.
