I'm no expert myself, and would appreciate a link to a similar thread, or walkthrough, as I will have to update my XB bios at some point, and don't want to **** it up. Cautious as ever

I know that Xbox-Scene is meant to be an excellent resource, but the large amount of pictures means it takes ages to load on a 56K connection, making it hardly browsable for me, and a major hinderence in my quest for XB information.

Sorry that I can offer no more help, but I know that several others on this forum know exactly what to do!

I don't know about the xbit chip, but when you buy a mod chip it normally has a very basic, but legal bios. This bios will allow you to do nothing but flash it with another one.

The way you flash it is that you get a bios (off p2p, IRC etc.), put it on a CD and when it asks you for it you put it in and it does the rest automaticly.

This is the basic guide off that very site, which should help to explain the theory, but for specific step by step instructions for the various bioses and chips that are out there you may be better off searching their forums or posting there instead.
