Samsung Galaxy S2 not accepting my password anymore

    Hi all,

I recently inherited my dad's Samsung Galaxy S2 which is a pretty excellent phone, but yesterday night I tried to check it and it no longer accepted my 4-digit passcode. I have no idea what brought this on, but I am now locked out of my phone with no way to retrieve the pictures/data on it. I can't make it allow me to unlock it with my google account (which has been one suggestion I've read online) as there doesn't seem to be anywhere to input the details.

As I'm in South Korea at the moment my phone was set to flight mode and can't receive calls, so I can't cheat around the lockout screen that way. Can anyone offer any help? I can hard reset the phone if I have to but as I will lose so many pictures I really don't want to do that if I can avoid it. (Annoyingly you can't use the phone's USB storage with a computer without unlocking it first. Understandable but infuriating)
