I'm tempted to get the DMC collection as I fancy playing 1 and 3 again, but I seem to recall a fiasco when it came out. Are they poor ports?

Some of the Devil May Cry HD Collection's content is far from classic, and there are undeniably rough edges, but as a package it offers two fighting games of ex
Devil May Cry HD is a job done the simplest and quickest way - that is, the original assets are displayed in higher resolution and in widescreen, but minimal work is done on the assets themselves. What this means is that some of the larger environmental features have reworked textures, but smaller details like carpets and wall textures are very often left as they were, looking basic in a stark 1080p. Most strikingly of all, the menus and some FMV cut-scenes have been left out of the HD club entirely, displaying in 4:3 blur-o-vision.

Doesn't sound too bad.
Is it at least as good as the God of War 1&2 collection?
All I really care about is that the PS3 version is properly widescreen and moves at a consistent framerate. I'm not worried about the textures etc; in a way I actually prefer that because it looks how the original game looked, just higher resolution and potentially framerate. I just ask because some re-releases fall even at this first hurdle (such as every re-release of Sonic Adventure, pretty much, which look worse than the original).
And yes, I'm getting it for Devil May Cry 1&3. Steering well-clear of 2.Last edited by Asura; 23-08-2014, 17:19.
