Will a dvi port display an analogue vga signal?

Running out of connectors on a monitor and about to buy a vga - dvi lead, to run another vga signal. Will it work guys?

Yes, and it will provide perfect clock and phase.

Sometimes. The DVI port must be DVI-I capable. The wide pin is narrower on DVI-D which is digital only so DVD-I physically doesn't fit.

Can anyone signpost me to a vga - dvi lead? They all seem to be marketed the other way around (convert digital to analogue)

They work either way around as there is no conversion. VGA at both ends just through different connectors

To add to my earlier post, it should have read DVI-I or DVI-A will work.
