    xbox softmod, BORKED?

i have tried in vain, to get the enigmah video switch to work on my softmodded xbox,

i tried to ftp it, cannot get my laptop to see it, (using flashftp) so i was fiddling with some setting, and decided to change the skin to one on the list, and now i cant see a fecking thing! the skin has no TEXT what so ever! i cant change it back,

is there a way to return the soft mod to default settings?

Just for future reference, I think it prefers you burn it to dvd and run it from the drive - at least that's what worked for me. As for the skin, do you have the option of starting it without the mod? (on mine, if I used the tray open button to fire it up, it started without the mod). If so, then you could remod.

      Charles, thanks

tried to burn it to cd, nothing then DVD it seems to load, but when i selected ntsc it just seemed to hang, the hi def options remain grey'd out,

tried a few things, holding start when powering up, restored it to default. PHEW....

You do have a component cable connected? The HD options are only available with these.
To reset your skin you should be able to use a boot disk e.g. UID/Slayer's to get FTP access and reset your settings.

no, the cable is not connected, i thought you needed to enable the ntsc mode first, then connect the cable, as if i connect the cable i get no pic to the monitor. SORTED!!

i have got my skin back to the default one, panic over there, will leave that well alone in the future.

i have used the power on with the eject option, and get the set up menu, i set the network to DCHP? and take note of the ip address, connect the crossover cable to the xbox and my laptop, put in the ip address and the password, and nothing.

              What dash are you using?
              FTP is enabled? Username/password set?

You are booting straight to XBMC?
I always liked to have an alternative dash to make updating easier so you don't have an issue overwriting in use files.
I either used a chip or TSOP flashed with a decent BIOS.
The chip makes it easy to boot to various dashes for this purpose but as you have already softmodded it may be worth you looking at flashing the TSOP if you intend keep using it.
