Back when I was in Japan, in 2006-2008, there was a whole wave of arcade machines which used trading cards as part of their controls. Bandai had a brand called CARDDAS which represented their version of the technology.
There were a few games I remember, such as Sangokushi Taisen, Gundam CardBuilder 0079/0083, as well as a football one.
However, I'm trying to remember the name of a particular one which might still be around.
It was a dungeon-crawler game, a bit like Diablo; I believe it had an isometric perspective and it may have been about vampires. It also may have been by Sega.
Does anyone here know the game I'm talking about? My local arcade had a bank of 8 machines for quite a while.
I have no idea what it was called, and I can't even Google it because those CARDDAS machines have almost no reach outside of Japan (you pretty much have to understand Japanese to play them, or be prepared for a LOT of trial and error).
EDIT: Scrub that, found it - "Lord of Vermilion", and it's by Square-Enix. I ended up finding it by browsing photos of Akihabara arcades before I found a picture with a cab in the background.
