    PS3 motor issues

My disc motor appears to be dying on my PS3. There is currently a disc stuck in there and the motor is making noise but won't spit it out. No doubt I could force it out with a knife but is this the best course of action? Can the motors be fixed? Original old model EU PS3.

I had this problem, I'm sure there's a forced reset thing you can do which sends the fans mental and forces the disc out- can't remember how though :/

    EDIT- ah, here we are.

Turn the main power switch off in the back. Next, hold down the eject button and turn the switch back on. The fan will run high and it will eject your disc. May have to do it a couple of times. Worked on the second try for me.

          Wahey! Sorted!

For some reason they took this force eject feature out of future PS3 revisions, but it's lucky you had the model you did!

I had to do it when my old 40gb YLOD'd
