So my brother purchased a Japanese Sega Saturn Mission Stick for use on games like Space Harrier and After Burner II.
Sadly the damn thing doesn't appear to work, is anyone aware of any region issues with a Japanese stick running on a PAL machine, seems unlikely as I saw someone playing a USA stick on a Japanese mission.
Plugged it in and set up with the internal wire for stick plugged into the main board before being plugged into the Saturn. But the stick does nothing when you press any of the button, it's not working with any of the official supported games I tried. Space Harrier, After Burner II and Wing Arms all the Japanese versions as well.
If not, anyone aware of any common faults? There isn't much on the Mission stick across the web. To me it seems the the internal chips may be damaged, as there was some condensation on it when we took it out of the box.
An internal clean might fix it but I don't hold much hope.
