    480p CRT TV

Were any of these ever out in the UK? I know the US had a few 480p CRT's with component inputs, but are there any over here? Anyone know any models that were released?

I had a Samsung one, it wasn't great! Bought it when it came out for something like ?500 as I couldn't stretch to a plasma at the time, the geometry went haywire fairly quickly.

Shouldn't be too hard to find mate, it was a 32" 16:9 and they were black and silver.

        EDIT: this was it.

Cheers mate, i think it's HD though, i've not really heard great things about those. I was looking for a native 480p EDTV if there are any.

You're right mate, I pretty much got every part of your initial question wrong in my head.

Toshiba 36ZP18P/Q is what your looking for. Also some Panasonic Quintrix and JVC InteriArt had component inputs....I had a JVC 480p image was as good as it gets until it went a bit wonky.

Toshiba Picture Frame 2 sets were 480p capable. And Loewe did a VGA option on their CRT TVs so that is one to look out for. Loewe sets from that era de-interlaced non progressive inputs displaying the results at 100 or 120Hz and looked fantastic. They even included separate options in the service menu for PAL and NTSC inputs. I ran a PS2 set to output component via a scart cable on my old Loewe Aconda.
