SNES Mini (US Ver.) PSU

I'm sure I asked this already, but can't for the life of me find the thread...

trying to avoid stepdown's where possible, but a MD1 PSU doesn't fit into this machine...

Can I buy a Maplin laptop PSU or something as a non-stepdown replacement...?
