How to edit WE6FE GC players and teams?

I've just received my mem card from kind soul Ginza but his option file has some out-dated transfers - would rather just update the handful of players meself than send it out to someone else again. Cheers!

Is there a way to move existing players from club team to club team (without doing it via the Master League)?

e.g. Beckham from Man Utd to Real Madrid.

Since the version I'm using already has the right stats for Beckham at Utd, seems a bit silly or cumbersome rather, to have to re-create him at Real. Cheers!

Hmm, Its not brilliantly clear is it? It doesn't seem like its possible to just move a player but it looks like you can copy and paste one. It looks like you have to create a new player, then somehow you can select a player to base your creation on, as he did with Batistuta. Then you just register Batistuta and can put him in a different team. unfortunately I recently sold my WE6 so I can't try a figure it out myself, plus Import invasion doesn't explain the create a player options. I reckon you'd have better luck posting this on the Import invasion board or even the Gamefaq we6 board because it looks like the same people are there from when I got the game a couple of months ago, so they must be quite dedicated.

I've been tinkering with it:

- write down all the stats of the player you're transferring
- Edit Menu; Create Player; Copy Base Player; select the player you want e.g. Beckham and drop him into an empty team (empty green flag)
- Edit Menu; Insert Player, you find the player you just copied; attach him to his original copy in his national side (this is so that if you edit his club version, it doesn't mess up his version in the national side)
- go back to his new Club team e.g. Real Madrid; overwrite one of the existing players by using the stats you wrote down in the first step

It's not so much 'copy n paste' it's more copy for backup, then overwrite an existing player manually by entering the exact figures from the stats of the player you're replacing him with. Very cumbersome, if my understanding is correct.

This leaves three questions:

a) once you overwrite an existing player, you cannot change his Nationality e.g. I've overwritten Makelele in Real Madrid with Beckham, but his nationality remains French?
b) his shirt number remains the same; how can I change it to 23 (if possible?)
c) is it possible to attach a real commentator name e.g. the existing 'Beckham', shout to the overwritten player

I guess I'll be posting these to the other boards, but will leave the questions here in case someone else finds em useful in future!

Hey here's the answers Londonner. Would've posted earlier but since starting uni time is limited!

a) You can't change nationality meaning Becks will be in the French national team if you're putting him over Makalele. Go to "Create player" and enter Makalele's stats. Go to register and swap this created player with Beckham in the French squad. This method of creating and registering will only work with national teams though!

b) No way to change the shirt number except for in national teams. I created Beckham over the old no. 20 who doesn't play for Real any more.

c) Yep you can change the commentary name but its tricky. Basically when you edit a players name, one of the options is a bunch of Japanese characters that cannot be changed to English. This is the commentary name. Write down Beckham's commentary name from when he's at Man United. When creating the new player enter this new name. Basically you pick the first letter then a list of all names beginning with that letter appears and you pick the name from this list. I don't know the Japanese alphabet or anything, but I worked it out eventually by matching up the character shapes. The alphabet is phonetic so its easy to suss it out. You can also listen to each commentary name by pressing X or Y or something when you're looking at the list of names.

You can have my file if you send your memory card. Its no way near comprehensive with transfers but all the major ones are done, and apart from that its identical to RickSLB's.

Well, I was back from university for 3 days and my brother managed to delete my precious option file! I was devastated because even though its the file from here I've been updating it with lots of little things.

I havent got a USB memory card and was wondering if anyone would be kind enough to let me have a copy of their file (preferably the file from that site or an updated version) because its not the same game without all the updates and English text. Thanks in advance
