Avi (Divx etc) to MPEG2 convertor

Just wondering if anyone knew any good ones?

I need to take some anime files i have, in avi, and be able to put them into mpeg2 so they'll play on her standalone dvd player


Any suggestions?

Actually i just burned them into VCD format using Nero

However, sound is all tinny (or mono..or just **** stereo)

So hopefully, it'll sound on alright on the tv, or one can hope anyway

Nero is ok for a quick copy and burn but it's quality leaves a lot to be desired and the compatability of the MPEG2 files and VCDs it creates are a bit dubious.

TMPGENC as already suggested is far better and is very easy to use. The files you'll get with that will be much better quality than Nero.
