Knights of the Old Republic: Xbox vs PC

Are there any major differences between the two versions? Was there anything added to the PC version that wasn't in the Xbox version.

I read somewhere that it was more than just an Xbox conversion, and was wondering if this was true.

Not sure if there is any difference in content between the two versions.
I've been told that there is another world that will be made available via Xbox live soon and assume that if it doesn't already come with the pc version it will be available to download too.

Make sure you turn off the subtitles! - it adds to the immersion sooooo much. Can't stress this enough (alien languages are still subtitled)

Aye, I've just turned off the sub-titles... adds loads to the experience.

Playing it through on PC for the first time and am loving it.

I would have bought it on the Xbox, but as I don't have one I had to buy the PC version.

I too am loving it. I'm getting quite addicted. So much so that I will sit and play it for hours, and when I check the time I'll notice that somehow it's 4am. I swear it's not a game, it's a drug.

Played it till 3 am this morning and was up again for work at 7.

I'm really starting to get to grips with the AD&D style system now and the combat is so much better than I first thought.

Second best game of the year for me, behind Zelda, even though I'm not far into it.

I thought that the PC version was to have another world from out of the box? I’d love it if this world became available as a download for the Xbox, but I doubt this would happen. More likely it will be some more weapons and equipment.

If I had a half decent PC, I’d buy this again.

The worlds I have available to me at the minute are Danooine, Kashyyyk, Tatooine Manaan, Korriban and Yavin. I'm assuming the first five are in the Xbox version as they are key features of the story, but what abiut Yavin?

The PC version has an extra space station, which as far as I know just features a store that sells items not in the X-Box version, probably a cantina etc.

I also heard that it would be available to download via X-Box live though which is cool.

Cool, I'm in the Sith base on Taris at the moment. Gonna have a solid session over the weekend though... should be off this pesky rock soon enough!

Yavin is where the space station is, that doesn't feature in the xbox version as Dave mentioned. I would imagine it would be the first downloadable extra over Live, if possible. Along with the extra kit you can buy in the PC version. Still very tempted to buy the PC version too though, as it's a close call between this and Gotham 2 for my personal game of the year

And Dave, Taris is rubbish compared to the rest of the game, becoming a Jedi turns this into the best rpg ever

No ****. After Taris the game blossoms like a goddam rose. I've beaten it three times, and I look forward to doing it again.

I agree. I'm on Manaan now, after finishing Dantooine, Kashyyyk and most of Tatooine. The depth of the story and the side quests is amazing.

By the way, on Tatooine, is it even possible to beat the third tier of the swoop race? I can get a time of 22.59 seconds, but no quicker. I'm not convinved it's possible to beat 22.51 seconds. But it has to be done if I'm to finish the side quest that I was doing.

I finished first in every race i did. That tatooine one is a bitch but you just have to keep on plugging away and make sure you hit every boost pad and shift gears as soon as you can. If you hit anything in that run you'll lose for certain

I get to a certain point in the track, when I've changed up to the highest gear possible and the boost pads stop working. Is this supposed to happen.
