PS3 not syncing to monitors it worked on before- please help

I started using it on my telly last year then put it away. Before that, I had used it on a monitor. Now it won't sync to that or any other monitor via DVI. I know the monitors work since that's what I mainly used it on in the past. I've tried the resetting option, via scart, everything. I'm flummoxed and haven't really played any games for months. Off topic but I still despise MS for the piece of **** 360 they extorted me for, fixed and died again.

I had what sounds like a similar problem when used to use PS3 in a monitor and moved it, to my Mums TV when went to visit. Start PS3 in safe mode as it forgets TV/monitor settings when you plug it into other things, as dumb as that sounds. PS3 cannot auto detect stuff I believe, Sony fixed it for PS4 Then go into the Disolay options while in safe mode. Hope that helps only thing I can thing of.
