CHIP INSTALLATION SERVICE NEEDED FOR V3 PS2

Hello people, this is my first post on your forum. Greetings! And the first thing I noticed is I spelled my username wrong! LOL! It should read Microswift... but never mind.

I was reading the thread for the recommended chip installation service of London Console, but I noticed they don't deal with V3 PS2's. Shame, because the price is reasonable at ?65. Basically, I need someone to fit a Messiah 2 or similar modchip to my V3 PS2, and preferably someone around the Yorkshire area. I'm in Sheffield, so if anyone knows of anyone who can do this I'd be very grateful, please point me in the right direction. If not, I'm prepared to send my Ps2 via post to a chipper. I've searched and searched for months online but haven't found anything suitable.

Any help? I really wanna get this sorted out ASAP.

    Thanks in advance!

Why not sell it and then buy a new one already chipped. It could be a lot easier.

yeah are the installers dont like older machines as there alot hard to mod and they have a chance of the drive lens breaking down

Yeah, if you use "backups" on it.

I had a rev 4 PS2, no one would touch it. Best sell it and start again. May cost more, but i guess no one would guarantee work on a rev 3 as it so difficult to work on.

Which version PS2 is best for modding? And are there any solder-less mods / swap mods worth using?

Yes and no - the way the mods patch data to and from the DVD drive I/O definitely makes it work a little harder - playing backups doesn't help, especially on poor quality unbranded media, but I've seen modded v0 - v4 PS2s with dead lasers that have never seen a backup of any kind... any yes, they are an absolute b****rd to fit too

The best PS2 in terms of durabiltiy is the V5, the V7s are also good, but a mint modded V5 is the toughest.

                Will.
