Are the GBASP AGS-101 systems on eBay clones, or something?

There seem to be a lot of GBA SP AGS-101 systems on eBay; more than I would expect. Are they likely to be dodgy clones, or are there just a lot floating about?

Yeah. People have gone crazy with the aftermarket AGS-101 screens and third party cases. Be cautious when purchasing.

Yes. I know they're worse in most respects. I prefer the larger screen, as most of the games I play on GBA are SRPGs and Advance Wars-type stuff.

I would understand if it was racing games or similar you were playing, where you're always on the controls and your hands get tired, but...Ah well. Also, would it not be cheaper to get a GC with GB player?
