I'm down to 16 games on my wishlist. Unless any of them get massive discounts to under a tenner I won't be buying anything for a good while.

No, you can start the client in offline mode. I think it needs to check things online once in a while, like a month or so.

I feel GoG has been ace at keeping a lot of old (not so popular) titles relevant, which has eventually led to a few updated re-releases. I think that's where the whole System Shock revival came from right?

No. System Shock 2 was already playable on modern systems due to fan efforts (a lot of mods too). SS1? Well, you don't need to use DOSBOX anymore.

NightDive buying the rights to the series and wanting to remake the original is a different matter....

Had a read. That's worrying for fans as Nightdive have never actually made a game.
