Has anyone made a list of the top 50 Wii games?

I didn't really play much on the Wii during its life, so I'm not really aware of anything but the biggest stand-out titles like Mario Galaxy.

With the WiiU being backwards-compatible, I've looked through some of the games available for it and had a few surprises; titles I would never have expected. I personally own Ghost Squad and Gunblade, which are good-but-pretty-odd titles.

Has anyone ever compiled a list of the top 50 or top 100 Wii games? I would look through but the machine has so much shovelware; such as the many games of USA gameshows and reality TV programmes, or kids barely-above-flash-game level crap.

Ikenie No Yoru is essential, although gets a bit samey towards the end.
I think you'd struggle to find 50.

I think you could easily make a top 50! I'll try and post my library (warts and all; kids have a few crappy titles), but I reckon there's at least 20 good games in there.

Why don't we try? Ask for top-ten Wii games, then make a top 50 / top 100 out of the results.

Yeah, we could make one if people just keep posting what they consider good.

I did try googling this, but many of the results had titles I know to be poor choices. For instance, many of them feature Metroid: Other M, which I thought to be dreadful.

I thought about my top 10, but it's as uninteresting a top 10 as you could imagine. Mario Galaxy and Galaxy 2, Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort, Sin and Punishment 2, Wii Fit Plus, New Super Mario Bros, Mario Kart, Sin and Punishment 2, Punch Out.

I don't much like Zelda games unless they are handheld.

Or you could do what I do, and spend your free time on here talking about games, rather than playing them.

I like how you mentioned S&P2 twice.

I'd add Flingsmash (needs the upgraded motion controller). Critics (apart from me) panned it, but they are all wrong.
Elebits - really great use of the Wiimote
Just Dance - again, great use of wiimotes
We Ski - balance board
Ikenie No Yoro - balance board terror horror

The metacritic list isn't much help - it has the very average World of Goo at number 4!!!! A game that can be completed on the first go without any need to retry any of the levels (unless you go for OCD mode) does not deserve that score.

I rarely played anything on the wii due to not getting on with the controller. In saying that I did enjoy Resident Evil 4 and RE:Umbrella Chronicles. Never played the second one of that. No more heroes is also a good shout but you can get all these on other consoles now.

Not sure i could name more than 5 though; ghost squad, eledees, excite truck and illvelo are all rather nice

The game I played the most(mainly in multiplayer) is Mario Kart Wii. After that, Super Mario Galaxy 1 & 2, which are both superb. Sin & Punishment 2 is good. There are some Wii games I never go around to buying - such as Donkey Kong Returns and Kirby, so I need to pick them up at some point.

p.s. I forgot about Excite Truck - that's a really fun game, despite me wishing you could use a joypad instead of the Wiimote.
