TV for Tate (Vertical Mode) Gaming

Hi folks.. one of my firts posts here I think...

time has come for me to buy a new TV. I need a 4:3 TV, 21" - 28", NTSC compatible, takes RGB over SCART and also, most importantly works in TATE mode.

I currently have some Hantarex monitors (great units) but they don't take RGB over SCART (at least my older models don't seem to) and I have just got myself a supergun (very fast service from arcade-heaven.co.uk).

I know the 14" Sony Wegas work great in tate mode and take RGB over SCART as I borrowed one a while back; but after playing tate games on a 28" screen you just couldn't go down to 14" again.

Anyone tried the Panasonic Screens that go for about ?250 in tate mode?

Any opinions or thoughs greatly appreciated.

I've tried Ikaruga Tate on my Sanyo 21" from Argos and it works fine. Just need to be careful to let it rest at 'off' for a while before rotating it.

Don't buy it if you want NTSC4.58 support, it only does that older NTSC which nothing uses anyway.

Sounds like you want any old 21" TV, get the ?99 one from Currys, it does RGB, NTSC and it's ?99.

Any idea what Make/Model? Does it work OK in TATE (Portrait) mode without any ill effects?

The very nature of a CRT means that any standard TV will be fine for verticle play, as long as it's allowed to rest before it's rotated. I've rotated countless TV's of all makes and models, and have never encountered a problem!
