Playing ntsc games on a pal psone combo?

Hi i have just recently purchased a UK psone screen combo(official screen and psone)

but when i try and play import games(via a bootdisk) the game boots ok but the whole screen is flickering big time, which as you could imagine is unplayable

I have no problems playing PAL games but its just really depressing as about 80% of my psone games are ntsc i guess its that the screen does not have an ntsc output or something

what i wanted to know is there any chance to play ntsc games via the screen without the major flickering?

Sounds like the LCD only accepts 50Hz input mate.

there is a boot disk about that lets you force ntsc games to 50hz.
wouldn't know where to find it anymore, maybe ask on irc.

I remember reading that the psone lcd was 50Hz only for pal and 60Hz only for ntsc some time ago. It was some console hack (gba + tv advance?) where the dude had used a psone lcd screen for cheapness.

I also remember something about pal psones not being able to do 60Hz.

As Yash says, its probably the display - have you tried hooking up the psone to a normal TV just to make sure?

If it is the lcd, I can't think of much you could do other than buy the ntsc version of the lcd screen.

Unfortunately its entirely down to the official PSone screen released in europe, It only outputs at 50hz. There is no way to change it at all.

Yea, they do - it outputs NTSC, like the PS2 does. Don't think any PAL games run in 60hz though, but NTSC games do. It is software controlled, as far as I know.

why dont you just download the boot disk that forces NTSC games to 50hz as you are using a boot disc already it isnt like it is any more effort.
It is only a 20meg download or somthing.
