    graphics card problem

OK over the past few days my new graphics card has been playing up and just dropping to desktop on all the games I play. I think I have norrowed it down to the AGP not having the correct voltage (I have asus smartdoctor) unfortuanlly I have no idea how to correct the problem but heres the info so someone maybe able to help.

    1.52 v - VDDQ - too high
    1.59 v - NWDD - too high
    AGP BUS V1 3.22 - should be 3.3
AGP BUS V2 44.9 - this is fine
AGP BUS V3 12.7 - seems to be too high, should be 12.0

    I hope someone can help

Those particular voltages are probably not the problem.
The mobo and vid card details would be more helpful.

If it used to work and now does not it - suggests software has changed?

The only hardware tweaks you can make are in your motherboards bios.

well I haven't added any software drivers in a week thats for sure, it hasnt even seen the internet as I bought it home. And it only started doing it 2 days ago!

The Motherboard and graphics card are both Asus

the motherboard is an A7V600, I set the CPU settings of that of my processor so I assumed it would handle the BUS speeds.

The graphics card in the Asus/Nvidia V9560, It has the new 53.03 drivers which where acctually working better with most games than the ones that gave everyone trouble.

I think it was building up to this however, I had some SmartDoctor problems but thought nothing of it as it was intermittent. I am pretty sure its a power thing. The GPU is doing 50-53oc so it might be overheating but... I dont know!

          1.Its fine in Windows?

2.Only crashes when you start any game?

          3.How does it 'crash'?

at this point it could be (in order):
          Graphics card driver
AGP driver (on a via chipset)
Overheating (check the gfx cards onboard fans are running)
          Poor voltage regulation

            Could be your psu.

Have you tried raising the voltage to the agp slot ?? I had to overvolt mine for my Raddy to work.

If you can not raise agp volt try raising mem voltage as this usually raises agp voltage aswell (esp on new P4 boards)

I used to over volt both my ram and agp to get 100% stability.

Its deterating in windows now, not crashing but the display was all funny. This has never happened before. This is really annoying as I havent changed anything. The games always play for quite a while then randomly drop back to windows. It could quite possibly be the voltage, however I have a 400 w supply (but alot on it)

How would I go about that?

OK the latest is that I fiddled around inside late last night to make sure all the connections where fine, looks like no problem there. On trying it again however I got several hours of gameplay and no problems I assume it was either a heat thing (hotter in the day) or a loose connection/power problem. I am really tempted to buy a new power supply anyway now just for the sheer reason I have alot of devices and extras on my PC and its probably more than coincidence that I have had all these problems with the card and the voltage on the motherboard is lower than it should be (from what I can tell.) and I am now getting yet another fan for the back so another thing to drain power. Also my neon light dims every time the harddrive is heavily active. I assume this is even more proof that power is low within my system.

                      Loose connection then? Hmm.

I'd still do as you mentioned and look into a new quality PSU.
