    A very useful piece of advice.

    If you have multiple US and Jap consoles, rather than buying lots of stepdown adapters, it is very worthwhile investing in one of these:

    They're cheap, American users on the boards would in the most part be more than willing to help (cos most are nice blokes ), and it saves so much hassle! I'm just pointing this out, because at the meet a couple of people gave me the old "why didn't I think of that!" when they saw that I'd brought mine along .

    Are there any problems with running say an Xbox, PS2 and Gamecube all on at the same time using that?

      At the same time, I'm not sure, but at the moment I have my Panasonic Q and PS2 on standby and they're fine, and I have actually tried and it appears to go okay with both of them on.

      I don't see why there would be any problems having them all plugged in at once if you're only using one at a time (not sure why you would want more than one going), it's kind of like how you can use a UK powerstrip with loads of consoles really. I think. Probably not.

      <waits to be corrected>

        I thought i was being clever when i went to the States so i picked up three of them and neither me nor my other two mates have got them to work.
        Do you think it depends on the step-down?

          It depends upon the Stepdown, most of the stepdowns that I've seen for sale are only rated at a couple of Amps, meaning you should only run one console off of it (one never uses the full ampage due to fluctuations).

          I've got a heavy-duty stepdown which seems to be made of cast-iron, I forget the actual ampage but I did have it powering a GC/Xbox/Ps2 plus a SS amp.
