How do you get Progressive Scan out of a PS2 then?

Is there a button you need to hold of something? I expected it to switch automatically like Xbox but I put Jap Tekken 4 in and it was in 525i and I couldn't see an option. I'm sure I read Tekken 4 has PS support.
What other PS2 games do? (I know there aren't many)

    TIA

You must be using component cables going in to a progressive capable display.

You can either enable the mode from within the game or hold Triangle and Cross on boot (some games may differ).

Jak II (pal) and Tekken 4(pal) support prog scan. No doubt theres a list on the net somewhere of all supporting titles.

All versions of Tekken 4 have Prog Scan. As Yashiro says, for the NTSC versions it requires Triangle and X to be held down on bootup for the option to appear.

That's what Yash means by a component cable if you needed further classification.
Is there an official one? Or is there a Monster one sold in the states for premium quality?[/url]

There is an official Sony Component cable. I picked one up from HMV about 18 months ago although I can't actually use it at present.

              That's what I needed. Cheers.

I'll go hunt down a list of PS2 games that support progressive then. Don't think i'll be buying The Getaway just for PS though I bet it still looks ****e I don't really like Tekken 4 either but it was cheap

Soul Calibur 2 720p on Xbox, now THAT'S impressive.

GT 4 do them as well.

So if this list is correct I got VF4 Evo, GT4 for progressive scan games, but look like the list need updating.
