just noticed that in the budget corner of a shop:
battle gear (tokyo road race) memories sprang to my mind!

does anyone know what it is exactly?
and if it does have a 60hz mode?

Tokyo Road Race is Battle Gear 2 - its a very good game which is in the initial d mold

well worth picking up on a budget - not sure if its 60hz (i have the japanese version) but iirc it was a very quick port of the japanese version so i imagine it is

Road Rage 3 is the PAL conversion of Touge 3 (not to be confused with Tokyo Road Race, which Camps quite rightly points out is BG2). Meant to be very good. If you can get more than one copy then I'll buy it off you and pay postage etc... as it's quite hard to track down an importer who actually has it in stock.

I think they're pretty much the same. I haven't played them, so I can't say for certain, but the screen layouts and courses are the same. You can see that from Atlus' website of the 2 games;

my first post was unclear, I already know and own tokyo road race.

I wanted to know if road rage 3 was worth picking up, and if it had (most importantly) a 60hz mode.

I will buy one tonight (10?), and let you know how it turns out.

Also, can you give a comparison to other racers, like GT3 or F355 Challenge? (handling, overall impression)

I have only found one review, however, it?s en francais and as far as I can see it does not mention an 60hz option. Here is the link. The final score is 4 out of 20!
