    PAL Gamecube and TV card

I just recently bought a TV card for my PC and it would be convenient to play my gamecube (PAL) thru a PC monitor. The TV card however supports only S-video and composite leads, and to my knowledge, PAL gamecube doesn't support the S-video output and normal composite AV-cable gives a crappy washed out image.

I know buying an NTSC cube would solve my problems but that's too expensive for me. Is there any solutions to my problem?

Is there an RGB to S-video converter which would convert the RGB signal to S-video? Would that work with Gamecube RGB cable? What would happen to image quality then?

Sorry if there has been already discussion about this, but please someone help. This is important for me.

Either way the cube image is going to look ****e on your PC mate.
TV in is terrible via any method.

RGB to svideo convertors are available. To be honest though you'd be better spending money on a small TV with RGB scart input.

I know it's not an ideal solution by any means. But if the software supports it (and it does support most TV Card chipsets) a great program to use is called DScaler. Even better it is freeware. It has alsorts of settings for improving visual quality and deinterlacing etc etc. I quite often play my PAL GC through it, and admitedly the quality isn't up to that of RGB, but if you choose the right filters and options, you vcan get it looking pretty darn good and sharp. It took me a while to find it, but I'm glad that I did. I made the stupid decision in moving my Video Monitor downstairs for a JAMMA test rig so all I had left was a 19" TFT attached to the PC, and if it wasn't for DScaler, I would have lugged it back upstairs as the usual TV Card software produces such a grainy picture on my TFT (bear in mind that TFT's have natural resolutions and they don't like straying from these).

      DScaler URL:

It's also great for testing purposes as it supports all these Video Formats:
      PAL-50 (All variations)
      PAL-60
      NTSC-60 (All Variations)
      NTSC-50 (All Variations)
      SECAM

      Hope this helps a little

I thought I would give this a go, as it would be handy to use the video in on my card for something.

If I can't see anyway of selecting PAL60 in DScaler, does that mean it auto-detects it and it's my video in on my gforce card that doesn't support it, or does it mean i'm being stupid and just can't see the option??
