    Flickering N64?

My RGB modded Jpn N64 sometimes flickers when booting up a game or occasionally mid-play - Is this a common problem? Is it on it's way out (hope not)?

i did the rgb mod on my n64 a while ago (the one with the internal signal booster by linking point 'c143') and i noticed that this caused horizontal flickery interference lines on the screen. it seemed to fluctuate depending on which tv i used so i assumed it may be that the signal boost is too bright and some tv's would handle it better than others. i tried adding a resistor between the booster link and the flicker is greatly reduced, so i think i just need a slightly stronger resistor and it should sort it out completely (sorry, don't know the values. the one i'm using now was just ripped out of an old snes rgb lead). if yours is the same mod then this is probably the problem.

When I mentioned this a while ago I got slated, and was told I was talking ****e, I said it varied from depending on display devices.
There is another way to mod the N64 that gets round this buy building a booster inside the N64.

I have a schematics for it I will try and hunt it out.
