CAN YOU SAVE DONKEY KONGA USING FREELOADER?

Just wondered cos ive tried and it didnt seem to work, used a spare memory card with nothing on, PAL GC using freeloader 1.6B

Anyone know if i can save, ive unlocked stuff so many times itws no longer funny!

I thought i read somewhere that you need another JPN game to format the card first, then it works?
