I use a Samsung 191T which is a little old now... it's a good specced display but the refresh rate is 25ms.

Having said that for casual gaming it's perfectly fine. Ghosting isn't noticeable and there's no blurring.

The WORST I've seen ghosting-wise on my display is the snowy stages of Call of Duty and it wasn't bad.

Having said that... for LAN parties or serious online gaming sessions I use my 21" sony trinitron CRT display.

Sounds like you didn't up your screen refresh rate. I basically set my refresh rate at 85Hz for all screen resolutions. I always got a headache before I found this option out, at 65Hz. I can go up to 100Hz on lower resolutions but it changes down to 85Hz on 1600*1200 so I just leave it at 85Hz.
No mate, I had it at 100hz all the time. The thing is CRT`s pump out so much radiation it really makes me dizzy and sick. Thats probably one of the most important reasons for buying an LCD, 99% radiation free and its much easier on the eye due to the way the screen refreshs.

If you want to use a monitor for hours and feel good, then get an LCD.

Wow that must have been annoying playing games

I don't get any such effects while using my CRT.

I have the same TFT as Yashiro (Hercules 920Pro DVI) and its amazing for games and well... everything.

Well recommended. The current Hitachi TFT's have 16ms (compared to the 20ms of the Hercules), but thats only in 18bit color..
