Wild Metal Country free from Rockstar - problems?

The other week, the regular Rockstar email announced that they were offering up Wild Metal Country to unlock for free download, as they previously did with Grand Theft Auto (the original one).

However, every time I've tried to run the download I get disconnected about a third of the way through - has anyone else been having this problem, or indeed managed to get through it ok?

While I'm on the subject, does anyone know of any other full games available legally like this? I know that Beneath A Steel Sky and Hidden & Dangerous Deluxe have both recently become available for free, but I'd be interested in any others.

These aren't commercial games, but are opensource games so some are good in there own right...

Onto commercial games, hmm, none that I can think of, but there are a couple that are free, that online only, such as America's Army
