    Jap Compatable DVD Players

I just bought Twins Effects on DVD from Yes Asia but im having problems. The disc is ment to be region zero and NTSC Video. My DVD supposedly plays Region 1 but doesn't seem to play Asian DVD's even though its Region Zero. My chipped multi region Xbox plays it but jerky at some stages as if the disc is scratched, when its brand new today. Sometimes the Xbox boots and doesn't even recognise a disc is in there. Is there anything I can do? If not anyone play Asian DVDs with no problems on their DVD player and if so what model is it, also know any good (cheap) DVD players that play asian dvds that Richer Sounds may stock, why richer sounds, because you get the option to bring in dvd's to the store to try it out. Thanks.

The problem could be due to the poor quality of the disc. I have similar problems with a few DVDs released by lesser companies. I've had some discs that work on my computer but refuse to work on my PS2 or proper DVD player, and others which work fine with my PS2 but crash my computer.

Your best bet probably is to test it out in Richer Sounds - although beware that sometimes the disc may initially play fine, but screw up later on. Both our DVD player at home and my older model PS2 won't play a couple of the middle chapters of Shaolin Soccer even though the rest of the film is fine.
