Japanese GameCube - audio output connections?

I've just had a thought ....... what with spending all my time investigating component cables, progressive scan and the like I've completely overlooked how to get sound from the Cube!

I'll be using a component cable on a Japanese Cube - so how do I go about getting sound from the system?

If at all possible I'd like to pump the sound through my hi-fi but I don't think this will be possible (as a short-term measure I'll use headphones). But where do I take the audio output from?

Or can I, in addition to plugging in the component cable, *also* plug in my UK RGB cable (mentioned in a slightly earlier thread) and use that, seeing as it also has Audio Left and Right outputs on a block part way along the cable?

    Thanks,
    Phil

You get phono cables when you buy a Gamecube.

Use the AV out for sound and the digital out for video (there are diagrams/instructions in the manual)

      Thanks.

I'm sure someone once told me that Japanese Cubes didn't have any cables at all. Maybe I was imagining things?

Apparently Japanese Cubes don't come with any leads (or so I've been told).
