    Ways to test a Thunderbolt port?

    I've come across some machines which have thunderbolt up to v3, sometimes in a USB C port. If no dock is to hand, is there a way to test the port works?

    A USB c to USB adapter, and OTG adapters didn't work. Would you guys suggest another way, or would Windows and bios suggest any problems?

      I don't have one handy. Maybe a usbc to hdmi adapter? Thing is I know some laptops don't carry a video signal through the same port as the tb unless I'm wrong?
