    The naffin' VGA icon . . .

Alright, I know i really should know this, but i don't . What does the VGA icon on a computer port look like? Is it a box with a line on either side?
    Cheers in advance,

On a PC, if there is a symbol at all, it looks a little bit like a monitor screen.

Often there is no symbol, 15 pin hd d type sockets (the vga connector) isn't used for anything else in the PC world.

That port is likely to be VGA output - e.g. to display your laptop on a bigger screen or on a projector.

Argh! Oh no! But I don't see the point in VGA output, I've already got S-VIDEO, which I use occasionally. How can I tell whether it's input or output?

A socket would normally be vga out.

Its very unusual for a laptop to accept vga input.

Also, the vga out is there so that you could use it on a desk with a normal monitor, which a lot of office folk with laptops do.

Ah right, ok, cheers Papercut. I thought it was unusual too, but . . .
Ah well, I'll just practice my guitar instead of buying a DC VGA box.
