    Good HDMI Switcher

I've recently picked up a PS5 and that's crept me and Mrs Wools's over our TV's 4 HDMI ports. Now tired of switching ports when we want to watch a film etc, I thought I'll look into 4K HDMI Splitters and it's proven difficult!

I've read some reports about getting a powered connection but then seen some people have their switchers blow up, and considering most of the switchers I've seen aren't made in the EU, that's concerning. So I'm thinking I'll like a non powered HDMI switcher, with 3 ports, a button to allow me to switch when I want to (As I've read people talk about auto switching not being reliable) and I only need up to 4K and 60Hz compatibility.

I've seen this example on Amazon UK and was about to pick it up, before I thought I'll ask here first if anyone has any experience of picking up a well made HDMI splitter that won't set fire to my home, but will switch nicely between sources.

In my experience getting a decent 4K switch is a bit hit and miss. Powered switches are the way to go though. I’m using one from Tesco at present.

I’ve had a few different switches but they don’t seem to last. The Tesco model I’m using only claims to support 4K at 30Hz but works fine with my 4K HDR Freesat box. My Mac mini tops out at 4K 30 though. I’m using Monoprice high speed cables between the switch and the TV.

I’ve kept my PS5 and Series X on their own inputs to the TV. The other 2 HDMI ports are taken up by two of the Tesco switches which I use with all my other devices.

          Nice, thanks for the details.

I'm after 4K 60hz compatibility so will be trying one on Amazon, let's hope it's up to the job!

I've got this one which has done a fine job over the years

But sadly I'm now in need of more inputs myself so I'm looking at this one to replace it

4K 60Hz HDMI Switch 5 Port, MT-VIKI 4K HDMI Switch 5 in 1 Out with IR Remote Control, HDMI Selector Box for Firestick HDTV Game Console, Support 3D UHD HDCP2.2 HDR Auto Scan + HDMI Cables https://amzn.eu/d/fNR4ypN

Has 5 inputs & still does 4k @ 60Hz as well, should be fine for what I need

According to Twitter, this works as advertised. Tempted to get one myself.
