Migrate PS1 saves from memory card to Retroarch - possible?

    Hi all,

I've started playing a couple of games on my PS1 memory card. I've now started playing on a Playstation Classic with Project Eris/Retroarch on it. I'm hoping I can pick up where I left off in these games on my PS Classic.

I've managed to get the PS1 saves off the memory card using a PS2 and FreeDVDBoot and they are now on my Windows drive. I have been doing a bit of googling/trial and error and got as far as attempting to convert the files using Memcardrex and then putting them into the Retroarch save folder but this doesn't seem to be working.

Has anyone successfully moved PS1 save files to Retroarch or another emulator and got this working? I think I'm out of my depth now!

    Cheers.

... and then I finally found the solution myself!

What I had to do was to use the "second way" as written here. What I wasn't understanding is that the .srm file is in fact a bit like a folder. So what I had to do was "open" the .srm created for the particular game by Retroarch in memcardrex and then drop my save file into it before saving it. Then it showed up in the particular game. Phew!
