Chaps - can someone advise please on what is needed to hook up a DC to an OLED?

He purchased my UK DC recently (that I only ever used with the official DC to RGB/Scart into RGB) and has asked:

Hi Max, I finally got round to trying the Dreamcast last night as I was waiting for a component cable from Retro Gaming Cables so I could hook it upto my RetroTINK 5X-Pro I had recently bought. Unfortunately I was unable to get a picture or sound on my LG OLED TV. The Dreamcast powers up fine and has a yellow light and I know the RetroTink works as I have used it with my Wii so at the moment I'm not sure where the problem lies? I have asked Retro Gaming Cables about the RGB Component Cable and they weren't much help. So I think I will just have to buy a cheap Composite cable off eBay to see if I can work out if the cable is at fault. I just thought I'd let you know. If you have any thoughts please let me know. Regards, W

I've only ever used consoles with CRT TV's via SCART RGB and my gaming era stopped with DC so I'm clueless with modern LEDs and old consoles and have no idea what a Tink 5X Pro is??

Can someone advise please - really appreciated if you can help.

The Tink5X is the current scaler du jour that will take either component or SCART inputs and turn them into a nicely-scaled 1080p HDMI output with minimal lag, that you can then fiddle with, resize, add scanlines, and so on. Probably worth him updating the firmware on it (I know I was advised to do this before trying to do 480p over SCART with a DC) and without sounding too accusatory, making sure he's selected the right input on the Tink.

Obviously the Tink is the desired end result, but if he's got a display that'll take component directly it'd be wise that he tries that too.

A follow up, I had another message - seems the cable was not inserted properly. I’m sure we’ve all been there, always check the simple things first.
