Experiences of Xbox One X/Series X backwards compatibility?

Hi all,

My most recent Xbox is Xbox One. I’ve heard about enhancements to backwards compatibility games, e.g. FPS boost/dynamic range. Has anyone here tried these and, if so, what did you think? Any noticeable difference between One X and Series X?

I’m tempted to upgrade, but doubtful it’s worth the cost as I’m not so interested in current gen games and don’t have a 4K display.

Original Xbox games get a 4x resolution boost on the One S and a 16x resolution boost on the One X.

The One X does enhance a small number of Xbox 360 games. Games with uncapped framerates will also benefit from the additional processing power.

Not sure if this matters to you or not but your original discs are basically just unlock keys on these newer consoles to download the "bc" executables. The disc is just a boot key at that point.

Thanks for the replies both. I guess that’s understandable, Speedy, even if it’s a shame you don’t have access to it potentially in the future (when servers go eventually down).

One other thing that may be useful to know is that generally OG Xbox games when played on a One or Series will include the DLC. At least Morrowind does and I think that goes for some others too. Basically the executable that gets downloaded includes it.
