    Best place to buy a US XBOX

    Hi guys,

    Due to a lack of concentration on my part yesterday involving power leads my US XBOX did the whole bang & smoke routine

    The machine is paying Will a visit later today, he's going to take a look at it for me and see if I just blew the power board, in which case it can be saved. If not however I'm going to need a new machine.

    If as a worst case scenario I do need a new machine I'd just like to know if anyone knows of any decent and cheap places to get new US machines (I need US for all my Live games!)

    The best I could find was therage.com because of the great exchange rate at the moment I could get one with fedex shipping for just over ?150 - this is obviously without any duty. How much is duty likely to be out of interest? I know there isn't a set figure, but has anyone imported consoles been charged - what's the rough figure?!

    Any help appreciated, I hate being without my XBOX TBH (Fire at will those dislike the XBOX )

    You could pick up a 2nd hand modded XB for less than ?150, best keep your eyes peeled on the for sale forum herein. That's what I did and I'm very happy with it.

      Thats a very good idea, especially given that my machine was Xecutor 2 modded, so I don't really want to have to spend the money getting it chipped again unless I really have too!

      Assuming I have blown the whole machine I'm guess my HDD in there will be ok? I had an 80gig and it had all my save data on! Hope I can at least salvage that!

        Ask Microsoft UK to see if they can supply you a US XBOX with PAL Powersupply ?

        Say you got about 30 US XBOX games and see what they can do

          Yeah, cos Microsoft will love the fact that you're importing from other regions. Companies love having no control over sales in each region!

            You reckon they'd go for that?

            Anyone know the contact number or email address? Best to phone them though right?
