ps2 help chipping

i've owned my ps2 for a while now, but at christmas i bought my daughter one and i don't like her using my games (she'll scratch the discs)

i also want to play some import games

i have no idea what model ps2 i have so i don't know what chip to buy

this is one place i have found but what do i need, i have know idea where to find what PS2 version i have

Playing copied games on your PS2 is a sure way to knacker the drive.

For modding try www.londonconsole.com. Will is highly recommended here (and me).

cheers m8 just checked it out and i don't think mine can be done i have no screw i think mines below version 5 its old but works fine.

so would this 'New !!! Magic 3.1 for the PS2,suitable for all versions' be ok for me

or can i use 'New !!! No Solder Mod for the PS2 Version 4'
as i can't solder but i don't know what version i have
